This presentation will explore how innovations and concept changes shape our skills and treatment planning solutions, while underscoring the importance of collaborative planning between restoring dentist, technician and surgical team members. Surgical concepts that will be reviewed include virtual planning and guided surgery/provisional treatment, implant placement and restoration strategies, and management of hard and soft tissue deficiencies. Current diagnostic guidelines and methods to monitor health, and our approaches to reduce and mitigate disease risk will be discussed.
About the Speaker
Dr. Sonia Leziy, periodontist, maintains a full time practice on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. She was awarded the Lucy Hobbs Award for mentorship in 2013, the Saul Schluger Award for excellence in teaching and education in 2014; the recipient of the 2022 American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry Distinguished Lecturer Award, and the 2022 Greater NY Academy of Prosthodontics Distinguished Lecturer Award, and she is recognized by Dentistry Today as a leader in continuing education. She is a member of numerous editorial boards, and is published in the areas of implant esthetics, the digital workflow and perioplastic procedures. She is editor of the implant section of Inside Dentistry/Aegis Publications. She is a fellow of the ITI and a member of the ITI Board of studies. She lectures internationally, and provides education programs through Elatus Dental Bio-Architecture (www.elatus.ca) and Vancouver Island Dental Specialists (www.videntalspecialists.com).
